My Little....ALL ABOUT ME BOOK!

When we come back to school (which is right around the corner)  I always like to have my students complete these Little Me Books.  I usually give them out at Open House night, this way I can explain to parents what the directions are.  I encourage my parents to help students complete these.

When they bring them back I have students take turns sitting in our "Author's Chair" and they share their books.  They are usually BEAMING when it is their turn.  We keep these little books in basket in our classroom library.  They are the most popular thing for them to read all year long!

Come to my Store and pick up one of these books for your classroom

Fun DIY Frame Project

Summer is a time when I love to get crafty!  Today my daughter and I worked on frames!  These are the easiest, and inexpensive projects ever!

We made this fun little frame for our dog Coopers's picture!  I can't wait to make one for my classroom next!

Supplies Needed: an unfinished wooden frame.  You can pick this up at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Walmart, etc.  Under $5.
*Paint (We used a fun lime green)
*Letter Stickers (We used a nice thick navy blue)
*Ribbon, I used 1 thick and one thin, and over lapped them.
*Stencil for the paw print.
*Puffy Glitter (We went around the picture hole with dots)
*Small scrap of scrapbooking paper ,for the heart, and we used a raised glue dot so it really sticks out).

Time Needed:  1-2 hours.

Total Cost: $6  (Not too shabby for my teacher's budget)

First Week of Kindergarten Freebie and Fun Pics

I love to take fun pictures of my Kinder Kids throughout the school year.  Every parent wants a special keepsake from the first week of school! For this picture, I usually do the writing on a marker board and have them hold it.  I should include the year, but I don't always remember to do this :)

I usually print these out and glue it to a fun little beginning of the year page for students to decorate.  It makes a special keepsake for parents!  Here is the certificate I use.....

Here is an example of a picture I glue on the first week of school certificate!

I take pictures for their Valentine's Day paper too.  They do the writing on the marker board for this project!

Here is an example of the pictures I take for their parent's Christmas cards.  I they sign their own names on the marker board.  I blocked off some letters on this example.

Summer and Ice Cream Fun!

It is finally summer break!  I have actually put my computer away for the past 2 weeks so I could enjoy time with my own kids :)   Summer goes too fast for me!  Now I am back to work, creating like all teachers do during their summers!

One of my favorite summer treats is.....ICE CREAM CONES!  The first month of school we usually do some sort of name project and talk about the letters in our names.  Then we sort them according to the number of letters in their names.  I decided to create this cute little ice cream cone project for this next school year!
Click here to get this ICE CREAM project!

My students get to color and decorate the scoops of ice cream for their cones.  It will be perfect for counting letters in their names.  Since it will be the beginning of the year, and my kinders are just barely writing letters, I will probably let them do the coloring, then I will take a sharpie and write their letters really large on each scoop.  I will mix up their scoops and have them put the letters in the names back in order, now they can glue!  There is also a fun graphing page included!  I have higher kids that will really love comparing our results!

Now I am off to the store to get more ice cream for me!  Happy Summer!!!!
